If you love to sing, you’re invited to a a capella song circle every other Thursday. Share songs you love: bring a songbook or lyrics to a simple song that works without accompaniment. I’ll lead a circle song, teach songs I’ve written, or share new songs I’m working on.
A circle song is a simple layered piece created in the moment. You will be gently guided to add a part, just by listening and copying what you hear.
Circle Songs are an improvisational art form developed by Bobby McFerrin and Rhiannon and others. I’ve studied circle singing with a few proteges in the Northwest. It’s an inspiring, heart-opening, deep music. And So. Much. Fun.
When you sing this way, you cannot help but be exactly YOU. You open your heart; joy, love, beauty and all kinds of funky stuff comes out. It feels liberating. Authentic. And that’s what Spark is all about. Join us!
